Kurt is a native Southern California based designer and manufacturer with nearly 20 years of experience across domestic and international apparel production. His work is built inside the mechanics of garment manufacturing - from fabric sourcing and pattern development to factory management in the U.S., Mexico, and China, and national retail distribution. Manufacturing is not adjacent to his work; it is the foundation of it.
Kurt began his career at American Apparel under Dov Charney, widely regarded as the godfather of vertically integrated manufacturing in the United States. Working inside a fully domestic production system, he gained direct exposure to knitting, dyeing, cutting, sewing, and distribution under one roof - shaping his factory first mindset around speed, accountability, and precision fit.
He later worked alongside Rick Klotz of Freshjive and was involved with Warriors of Radness, the project that led to Klotz’s CFDA Menswear Designer of the Year nomination in 2011. That period reinforced the balance between cultural relevance and technical discipline.
In 2012, Kurt founded SewCal, a Los Angeles based development and production platform operating across domestic factories, Mexico, and China. SewCal oversaw sourcing, patternmaking, grading, sample development, and bulk production with strict quality control - refining scalable systems without compromising fabric weight, trim quality, or construction standards.
That infrastructure led to Noon Goons, a California label known for refined fits and premium construction, and later 925 Originals, an Americana-driven workwear brand engineered to deliver accessible price points without sacrificing build quality.
Across every venture, Kurt’s philosophy remains consistent: producing top notch quality garments.
